Hello SWEsters!

As President of the Virginia Tech Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), I am beyond excited to welcome you to our website and the start of our brand new blog! This space is dedicated to all of you, our incredible SWEsters, whether you’re just joining our organization or have been long-time member.

Although this blog has been in the works for a few months now, the launch of this blog couldn’t be timed at a more significant point. Our generation is facing difficult and evolving challenges that are unlike anything we have seen before. At a time like now, it's easy to feel anxious, overwhelmed, frustrated, and alone.

But here’s the thing…you are not alone.

SWE is an organization that is dedicated to empowering women around the world to achieve their greatest potential, with a focus on showing the value that diversity and inclusion has to our collective future. We, as a section of SWE, aspire to meet this powerful mission by providing opportunities to learn, grow, and connect with fellow Hokies.

This blog is an extension of the phenomenal work our SWE@VT leadership team produces to meet the needs and wants of our members. This site is designed to be a space where SWEsters can hear stories of success, insight from industry professionals, advice from upperclassmen, and even recipes reflecting the diverse backgrounds of our group! We hope that when you’re facing academic dilemmas, looking for advice, or just need a little inspiration, our blog will provide what you’re looking for and make your day just a little bit brighter!

I’m incredibly optimistic about what lies ahead for this blog, and hope you all continue to engage with us in this new format. If you are interested in being a part of this thrilling endeavor, whether it be writing an article or editing submissions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our incredible Webmaster who has dedicated numerous hours to make this simple idea become a reality.

Thank you for reading our first blog post and stay tuned for more sensational content coming soon to a screen near you ;)

With love,

Allie Huszcza
